KU, LG&E Sending Crews To Help With Isaac Cleanup
LEXINGTON, Ky. - Utility crews from across the region are heading to the Gulf Coast to help with restoration efforts following Hurricane Isaac. Kentucky Utilities spokesman Cliff Feltham says about two hundred KU and LG&E workers left for the area this morning.
“We are staging somewhere either in South Tennessee or North Mississippi…about as close as we can get to where they want us to go and it is at that point, at that staging area that they will farm us out and for the most part, send us to Baton Rouge", Feltham said.
The powerful hurricane swept through the Gulf Coast region leaving behind millions of dollars in damages and thousands without electricity.
The crews will help restore power, repair damaged equipment, downed wires, and other storm-related damage.
