Knight Leaving UK For NBA

By Alan Lytle

Lexington, KY – Kentucky freshman point guard Brandon Knight has decided to leave his name in the NBA draft; signaling an end to his college career. The Florida native says he received enough positive feedback from league scouts to solidify his status as a likely top ten pick this year.

"My goal was to come in and get better. That was my main goal; to come in, get better, and compete for a national championship. I think I accomplished those things this year and I think this opportunity just came up towards the end of the year. It was something I had to look into and take seriously."

Knight set the UK freshman scoring record with 657 points, as well as the freshman record for most-made three pointers at 87 this year. Fellow freshman Terrence Jones and Junior DeAndre Liggins have until Sunday to announce their intentions.
