FRANKFORT, Ky. -- – The Kentucky Senate today is expected to approve its plan for balancing the state's Medicaid budget.

The Senate Appropriations and Revenue Committee this morning is expected to approve a revised version of House Bill One. That's the Medicaid bill that cleared the House 94-4 on Monday. The measure would then move to the Senate floor, says Majority Floor Leader Robert Stivers.

"There were several things in there that we are going to agree with, that we think the House did some understandable things and we agree with them. We know where they're coming from. There's some that we understand them, but probably don't agree with them."

Stivers says debt restructuring and verification of managed care savings are still areas of concern for the Senate. Once the bill clears the Senate, it likely will take a House/Senate conference committee to iron out the differences.
