Frankfort, KY – Democrat Linda Belcher won the Bullitt County House seat formerly held by her late husband, Larry Belcher, who died in a car crash last month. Democrat Wilson Stone will replace House Majority Whip Rob Wilkey of Scottsville, who's retiring.

Republicans picked up the seat formerly held by Democrat Frank Rasche of Paducah, who now works for the Education Department. Financial planner Brent Houseman won the open seat. But Democrats picked up the seat being vacated by Republican Sheldon Baugh of Russellville, who's retiring. That post was won by Martha Jane King.

In a squeaker in Elizabethtown, Republican Rep. Tim Moore defeated former Democratic representative Mike Weaver by just 108 votes. No word yet if Weaver will challenge the outcome.

Nicholasville Democrat Bob Damron is heading back to Frankfort, as is former attorney general Greg Stumbo of Prestonsburg, who will take on House Speaker Jody Richards in next year's leadership races.
