Kentucky Family Needs Help Buying Service Dog

A Wolfe County family is asking for your help to pay for a service dog that could mean the difference between life and death for a six year old boy.

"When he was 18 months old he had his first seizure, it was six hours long.”  Since then Julie Patton’s son Kyler has suffered countless epileptic seizures.  More than a thousand to date and he’s just six years old. The family has been matched with a service dog named Copper who can be by Kyler’s side 24-7. “This dog can alert, retrieve medication, call 9-1-1, call a cell phone, roll him (Kyler) over on his side and go get help.”

The only challenge the family now faces is money.  Insurance won’t pay for Copper who will cost more than seven grand.  The Patton’s have gotten a small grant but are still $6,000 short.  Julie Patton worries every day about her son and says a service dog would be life changing for the entire family.

A Go Fund Me account has been set up to raise the money the Patton’s need to buy and train with Copper.  http://www.gofundme.com/kylerscompanion
