The Kentucky Education Association is calling the Governor’s move to appoint seven new members to the state Board of Education "back-door political maneuvering."
Monday afternoon, the KEA made a facebook post and revised it, questioning Governor Matt Bevin’s appointments and special meeting that’s called for today. Education and Workforce Development Cabinet Secretary Hal Heiner and Bevin’s former communicaions director, Amand Stamper have been appointed to the education board. On-line, the KEA posted "We believe that Heiner will be elected KBE Chair tomorrow and will immediately move to fire Commissioner of Education Dr. Stephen Pruitt."
The Governor’s office hasn’t responded for comment.
