Lexington, KY – A judge is considering whether jurors in the murder trial of former state lawmaker Steve Nunn will get to see writings seized from his car after his arrest.
Nunn is accused of gunning down his former fiancee, Amanda Ross, outside her Lexington apartment building in 2009.
Fayette Circuit Judge Pamela Goodwine said she's trying to determine the relevance of the documents, which include a handwritten witness list in an assault case and Nunn's recounting of his relationship with Ross.
The issue came up Tuesday morning during a status hearing in the case, which is set to go to trial on Aug. 1.
Nunn is a former state lawmaker and the son of former Kentucky Gov. Louie Nunn.
He faces a possible death sentence if he is convicted of killing Ross.
