Lexington, KY – Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear was joined by First Lady Jane Beshear and several other state and local dignitaries in cutting the ribbon to the Kentucky Horse Park's new $45 million dollar indoor facility. The governor is credited with ensuring that funding for the state-of-the-art arena was in place so that construction would be completed in time for next year's World Equestrian Games. Beshear says the new arena is just one more jewel in the Commonwealth's crown that will attract visitors worldwide for years to come.
According to Kentucky Horse Park Executive Director John Nicholson, the new arena has already been booked with no less than 27 equestrian events through the year 2014, with more pending. The facility will host its first test event beginning July 21st with the Kentucky Cup Reigning Competition.
