More than 100,000 people in Kentucky have applied for or renewed their health care coverage through the state's health benefit exchange during a one-month open enrollment. Governor Steve Beshear's office says Monday was the deadline for coverage to begin Jan. 1.
In a news release, Beshear's office said since Nov. 15, a total of 101,114 people either newly enrolled in private health insurance, qualified for Medicaid or renewed the private insurance they purchased last year.
Open enrollment continues through Feb. 15. More information is available at https://kynect.ky.gov or (855) 4kynect (459-6328). A full-service enrollment retail storefront is also open at Fayette Mall in Lexington.
