Hancock Elected President Of National Organization
Kentucky's chief transportation official has been elected president of a national group representing transportation agencies across the U.S.
Kentucky Transportation Secretary Mike Hancock was elected to the top post on Monday by the board of directors of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials during the group's annual meeting in Denver.
Hancock will serve one year as president.
Also at the meeting, the organization named former Kentucky Transportation Secretary Calvin G. Grayson as recipient of the Thomas H. MacDonald Memorial Award for continuous outstanding service or an exceptional contribution to highway engineering. Grayson is also director emeritus of the Kentucky Transportation Center at the University of Kentucky, and the Transportation Cabinet says his career in transportation has spanned nearly seven decades.
