FRANKFORT, Ky. - The Governor's Prayer Breakfast is being held Tuesday in Frankfort, an annual event since 1965.

The William Cooper Award is presented during the event. The governor's office says the award is given to a person or people who work in service to others with a motivation of faith and leaving a lasting impact.

The recipient this year is Leslie Robin, a second-year medical student at the University of Kentucky. Robin founded the annual "Spread the Love-a-Thon,'' a program designed with UK to combat teen suicide.

The keynote address is being given by Alan Keiran, chief of staff to the chaplain of the U.S. Senate. Keiran has served as a combat officer in the Navy and as chaplain to U.S. forces in Japan, Iraq and throughout the U.S.
