LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Governor Steve Beshear has been traveling the state this week to recognize Kentucky's past and present military personnel in honor of Veterans day. Following a visit to Fort Knox Wednesday, the governor made a stop at the VA Hospital in Louisville.
"We honor veterans on Veterans Day but we really ought to be honoring them every day because of what they've done for this country. We've got 339,000 veterans in Kentucky. Kentucky has a tradition of military service."
Beshear says Kentuckians should also thank military families for the sacrifices they make while their loved ones are serving overseas.
