Gorton, Bastin To Face Off In Lexington Mayor's Race

Lexington voters will choose between Linda Gorton, a former vice mayor, and Ronnie Bastin, a former police chief, in the November general election for mayor.

Gorton was the clear frontrunner in the seven-way race with 41% of the vote, despite being outspent by Bastin, (26%) and Kevin Stinnett, a Lexington councilman who captured 16% of the vote.

Also on the ballot were Ike Lawrence, Skip Horine and William Weyman, who ran limited campaigns.

286 of 286 precincts - 100 percent

x-Ronnie Bastin 14,207 - 26 percent

x-Linda Gorton 23,200 - 42 percent

Skip Horine 315 - 1 percent

Teresa Isaac 8,845 - 16 percent

Ike Lawrence 847 - 2 percent

Kevin Stinnett 7,866 - 14 percent

William Weyman 326 - 1 percent
