Go Green Workshop Targets Lexington Businesses

By Brenna Angel

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Environmental topics such as energy audits, recycling, and water quality are on the agenda of a daylong workshop geared toward Lexington businesses and apartment complexes.

The non-profit group Bluegrass PRIDE hopes to attract local business owners, managers, and maintenance personnel to its March 3rd seminar. Spokeswoman Darcy Everett says going green can also save some green.

"There's a lot of monetary savings that can be seen by replacing light fixtures, by getting an energy audit from the local utility company, things like that. So not only are you doing good things for the environment, you're also hopefully going to improve your bottom line as well."

Everett says the workshop is heavily focused on energy, with breakout sessions designed for both small and large businesses.

The Go Green, Save Green Workshop is Thursday March 3rd from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Location: Fayette County Cooperative Extension Office
1140 Red Mile Place
Lexington, KY 40504

Register online at bgPride.org by February 25th. Cost is $20 (includes breakfast and lunch). Contact Bluegrass PRIDE at 866-222-1648.
