Fox-Pitt Charges To The Lead In Rolex

LEXINGTON, Ky. - William Fox-Pitt of Great Britain is poised to capture his third Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event, with a commanding lead over Andrew Nicholson of New Zealand.

Fox-Pitt won the dressage phase of the competition Friday aboard Chilli Morning with a score of 33.3 penalties.  Nicholson on Quimbo stands second with a score of 38.0.  He also holds third place with his mount Calico Joe, (40.8).  

Kentuckian, Alexandra Knowles, of Paris, is currently fourth on Last Call (43.3).  Knowles grew up in California and moved to Paris 1 ½ years ago. She bought Last Call, a 14-year-old Mecklenburg mare, in Florida as a green horse seven years ago.

The competition continues through Sunday.  Saturday features the Cross Country Test.  The finals will be broadcast to a world wide television audience.
