Former U of L Education Dean Indicted
By Kentucky Public Radio
Louisville, KY – Robert Felner and an associate are accused of fraudulently obtaining over two million dollars in federal grant money from the University of Louisville and the University of Rhode Island. Felner also allegedly owes 500 thousand dollars in federal taxes.
Felner's attorney says his client will turn himself in, and Felner is expected to be arraigned soon. U.S. Attorney David Huber says further charges and investigations are unlikely.
What we're going to do is concentrate on the charges that we have and we think sufficient justice will be done based on the charges we have.
U of L is also looking into allegations that Felner helped a student earn a fraudulent PhD from the school. Huber says that's not part of his jurisdiction and will remain a University matter.
