Former Head of Ky. Pharmacists Group Indicted

By Associated Press

FRANKFORT, Ky. – A grand jury has charged the former executive director of the Kentucky Pharmacists Association with embezzling $78,000.

The Franklin County grand jury indicted 39-year-old Gary Hall of Lexington on Wednesday on three counts of theft by deception over $500 and three counts of theft by deception over $10,000.

Commonwealth's Attorney Larry Cleveland says Hall was fired in January after officials found he had used the association's credit cards for $16,000 in personal purchases between 2009 and 2011.

Cleveland said Hall also gave bonuses to himself and staff members totaling $44,000 and paid $18,000 for a trip to Marco Island, Fla., for himself, staff members and their families.
