Former Chief Justice Mulling Run For Attorney General

By Associated Press

Louisville, KY – Former Kentucky Chief Justice Joseph Lambert says he is considering running as a Republican for attorney general.

The 62-year-old Mount Vernon resident told The Courier-Journal that he will make his decision before the Jan. 25 filing deadline.

Lambert would face Hopkins County Attorney Todd P'Pool if he enters the GOP primary. P'Pool filed to run earlier this month.

Lambert served 21 years on the Supreme Court, 10 of them as chief justice.
Incumbent Attorney General Jack Conway, a Democrat, hasn't yet drawn a primary opponent.
