Expect Increased Police Presence This Holiday Weekend

Lexington Police have plans in place to help keep motorists safe and traffic flowing during the madness that will begin on Thanksgiving.

Lt. J.J. Lombardi says enforcement for high volume shopping areas like Hamburg and Fayette Mall are a top priority.

Extra patrols will actually begin at 8:00 Thursday night because so many stores have decided to open and begin ‘Black Friday’ deals early.  An enforcement campaign will also be underway beginning this weekend and lasting until January first.  It includes alcohol patrols on Friday and Saturday evenings between 10 pm and 4 am.  And traffic officers will be out in full force on major thoroughfares like New Circle Road and Man O War through the New Year.
