Energy Efficiency Program Could Save You Money

By Brenna Angel

LEXINGTON, Ky. – With temperatures beginning to drop across the Commonwealth, state officials are reminding homeowners about an energy efficiency program designed to help the environment and lower utility bills.

Lexington resident Melissa LeVine is one of the first participants in the Kentucky Home Performance program. She had an energy audit performed on her Hartland neighborhood home and will soon make improvements.

"I've been wishing for geothermal for some time, but to have it put in will just plummet our energy bills. I heard an estimate today of about $1,200 a year that we will save on our energy bills just by changing to geothermal."

The Kentucky Home Performance program offers a rebate of up to two thousand dollars or low-interest financing on qualifying energy upgrades. You can find out more information at KYHomePerformance.org.
