Lexington East End Artist Sundiata Rashid’s theme, “Know Your History, Then Make Your History” ties past, present, and future generations all together, by featuring famous local African Americans like Isaac Murphy, jazz musician Les McCann, and others, as well as providing ample space for children to visualize and express their futures.

"On the right hand side I have some grass leaves at the bottom where kids in the community can write their name and what they want to be when they grow up on separate grass leaves.  They can paint it themselves, and paint any color they want."

The dedication takes place Saturday afternoon from 3 to 5 at the newly named Lexington East End Market
