Flights were delayed for an hour this morning at Blue Grass Airport because a potentially suspicious item was found by the TSA.
All the bags at the airport had to be re-screened. TSA officials didn’t say what the item was but they did release the following statement:
A TSA baggage screening officer at Blue Grass Airport (LEX) noticed that an image presented on a machine did not match a bag pulled for additional screening.
TSA quickly corrected the problem, and in an overabundance of caution, worked with the airport to hold flights and rescreen bags before allowing them to proceed.
TSA apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the temporary delay.
