Council Approves Final 2016 Ad Valorem Tax Rates

LFUCG

The Lexington Fayette Urban County Council approved the final 2016 fiscal year rates for the city’s real estate taxes.

Most are unchanged from the previous year.  The tax rate for trash collection districts is .1431 dollars for every one hundred dollars of assessed property, .0210 for street light districts, and .0097 for street cleaning districts.  The conservation district rate is .0005, also identical to the rate from the previous year.

The only change in tax rates is for the extension service district, which rose from .0034 of every $100 of assessed value to .0035.  Support for all rates was unanimous, apart from the extension increase.  In that vote, councilmembers Jennifer Scutchfield, Fred Brown, and Amanda Mays Bledsoe dissented.   More information on ad valorem tax rates can be found online at lexingtonky.gov.
