Frankfort, KY – Joined by his family, and several key supporters, Attorney General Jack Conway dropped by the Secretary of State's office to fill out his qualifying papers and pay his filing fee. Afterwards, he told reporters, his primary focus right now is the May 18th Democratic primary. "I take nothing for granted. I'm gonna campaign hard. We're raising money. We're gonna have a well-financed primary. I'm gonna travel the state. I'm gonna begin a dialogue with the voters in the Democratic party."

To date, two other Democrats - Darlene Price and James Buckmaster - have also qualified for the office. But Conway's chief rival is expected to be Lt. Gov. Dan Mongiardo. They're all hoping to fill the Senate seat now held by Republican Sen. Jim Bunning, who's not seeking re-election. At least four Republicans are also in the race.
