LEXINGTON, Ky. – Details and technical aspects of the fatal crash that killed Lexington police officer Bryan Durman were discussed in court Thursday.

Lexington police Sgt. Ron Keaton served as a hit and ran investigator in the Bryan Durman case and analyzed the event data recorder from the 1998 Chevy Tahoe that struck the officer.

Keaton testified that upon impact, the vehicle slowed down only about .6 miles per hour.

"It also showed that the velocity and acceleration was straight through the collision. There was not much of a change in it because there was constant acceleration through the collision."

The Tahoe belongs to Glenn Doneghy, who is on trial for Officer Durman's murder. Sgt. Keaton also told the jury that the event data recorder could not indicate whether the vehicle turned during the crash or whether the driver applied the brakes.
