Another new art mural is brightening an area of downtown Lexington. The vibrant pops of color honor 19th century political giant, Henry Clay.
Street art has become popular in cities and town across the country and artist Casey McKinney says it shows young graffiti artists that their skills can help revitalize the city instead of destroy it.
McKinney grew up passing Henry Clay’s home every day and his research helped inform his tribute to ‘The Great Compromiser’ on the Phoenix Building. McKinney also graduated from college right here in Lexington, earning his Degree in Art at the University of Kentucky.
