Frankfort, KY – Cincinnati Bell, which serves six Northern Kentucky counties, wants to phase-out its White Pages phone directory and put the contents on the Internet. That's OK with the Kentucky Public Service Commission, as long as the phone company continues providing printed directories to customers who request them. "They can either request to continue receiving the White Pages as they always have, or if all they're concerned about are the Blue Pages sections of the phone book that have got the government information, they will still receive those through the Yellow Pages."

That's the PSC's Andrew Melnykovych, who says Cincinnati Bell is the first local exchange carrier in Kentucky to move away from traditional distribution methods for the White Pages. But he predicts they won't be the last.
