Champion Sprinter Tyson Gay To Resume Career Next Month

Following his one year suspension for doping, Lexington native Tyson Gay says he plans to resume his once promising career at a meet in Lausanne.

Gay received a reduced ban for cooperatong with the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency's investigation.

The World Anti-Doping Agency won't appeal Tyson Gay's reduced one-year ban for doping, saying the American anti-doping authorities properly handled the former world champion's case.

WADA said it was "satisfied" that Gay "provided substantial assistance to USADA in an appropriate fashion. WADA will therefore not appeal USADA's decision which is compatible with the world anti-doping code."

Gay tested positive for an anabolic steroid at the U.S. championships last year. He said he will run the 100 meters at the Diamond League meeting, where he won last year. That victory was annulled along with all of Gay's results since July 2012.
