Breathitt Appointed To Public Service Commission
FRANKFORT, Ky. -- Lexington-based energy adviser Linda Breathitt will return to the Kentucky Public Service Commission.
Governor Steve Beshear appointed Breathitt to the position on Friday to replace Charlie Borders who resigned in December.
Breathitt is the federal representative to the Southern States Energy Board, a position she was appointed to by President Barack Obama.
She is familiar with the Public Service Commission, having previously been a member and chairwoman.
Breathitt said in a statement that's she's "thrilled" to rejoin the commission, which regulates utilities in the state. Her term will begin May 21.
Breathitt is the daughter of Ned Breathitt, who was Governor of Kentucky from 1963 to 1967.
