Kentucky's Republican and Democratic primary elections are Tuesday. Four of the state's six congressional districts have contested primaries. Incumbents John Yarmuth in the 3rd District and Thomas Massie in the 4th District have no primary opposition. But they will face challengers in the general election this fall.
U.S. Rep. Ed Whitfield, a Republican, is not seeking re-election in the 1st District. Only one Democrat filed to run in the 1st District. No Democrats filed to run in the 5th District. Below is a look at the contested primaries on Tuesday.

MILES A. CAUGHEY JR.
Military veteran, former steel worker. Raises cattle in Peedee.
JAMES COMER
State legislator, 2001-2012. State agriculture commissioner, 2012-2016. Republican candidate for governor in 2015, lost by 83 votes to Matt Bevin in the Republican primary.
MICHAEL PAPE
Worked as U.S. Rep. Ed Whitfield's district director for two decades.

EVERETT CORLEY
Real estate agent. Former candidate for the Louisville Metro Council and the state House of Representatives.
ROBERT DeVORE
According to The Courier-Journal, DeVore is a military veteran and a former McCreary County school board member. He ran for Louisville mayor in 2014, losing to incumbent Greg Fischer.

Former state worker in the Kentucky state energy office. Former congressional candidate in 2014 and candidate for governor in 2015, both unsuccessful.
