Bluegrass PRIDE Now Bluegrass Greensource
LEXINGTON, Ky. - Bluegrass PRIDE, a Lexington-based environmental organization, has changed its name to Bluegrass Greensource. The announcement came at Friday’s Rain Barrel Reception, and is part of a major rebranding campaign.
Executive Director Amy Sohner says the change was made in order to help with greater public recognition.
“If you know who Bluegrass PRIDE is, that’s great, but if you don’t, the name itself does not invoke anything about what we do, does not help us understand.”
Sohner says Greensource is a name that fits better.
“That’s a very descriptive name. It lets people know what we do, but we want to be the source for environmental education in Central Kentucky.”
The organization has advocated for a variety of environmental causes, such as water quality and energy efficiency, since 2001.
