Kentucky Gov.-elect Matt Bevin vowed to remove the names of county clerks from marriage licenses and pledged to roll back the state's version of health care reform when he takes office next month.
Bevin spoke publicly about his plans on Friday after winning the Kentucky governor's election with more than 52 percent of the vote in a three-way race. He said he views the results as a clear mandate from voters to enact his policies.
He urged the 500,000 Kentuckians who have health insurance through the federal Affordable Care Act to be patient, adding that he grew up below the poverty level and did not have health insurance until he joined the military.
Bevin said he plans to hire a general counsel and chief of staff as early as next week.
