Bevin Reorganizes Arts Council, Executive Director Resigns

artscouncil.ky.gov

Kentucky Arts Council Executive Director Lori Meadows has resigned the post, and Gov. Matt Bevin has reorganized the board.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reported Friday that state Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet spokeswoman Laura Brooks declined to elaborate on Meadow's resignation because it is a personnel matter. The newspaper said Meadows didn't immediately return calls seeking comment.

Brooks said the cabinet was grateful for Meadows' service.

Four members will be on the reorganized board, including Chairwoman Mary Michael Corbett, and Bevin appointed 11 new members.

Brooks said Cabinet Secretary Don Parkinson will appoint a new director to be confirmed by the council.

Since Bevin took office last year, several other boards have been reorganized, including the Kentucky Horse Park, the University of Louisville board of trustees and the Kentucky Retirement Systems.
