MIDDLESBORO, Ky. – Governor Steve Beshear says he will sign a disaster declaration for six eastern Kentucky counties that were flooded by heavy rains.

Beshear made the announcement Tuesday as he toured some of the hardest hit areas in Middlesboro. The disaster declaration will include the counties of Knox, Knott, Lee, Perry, Breathitt, and Bell.

Meanwhile, authorities released the identity of an eastern Kentucky man who died after flood waters swept away his mobile home.

Donald Joe Pate,55, died Monday after high water swept up the home and smashed it against a bridge about 125 yards away.
