Frankfort, KY – Governor Beshear says he will immediately begin formulating a plan to address a projected 456-million dollar revenue shortfall, and then take it to the people during December. He says everything, including radical spending cuts, will be on the table. "The shortfall is just too large and it comes too far along in the fiscal year. Let me be clear. I'm talking about cuts that will bring pain to our people."

Beshear believes a special session to address the projected deficit is likely, but not before January. Beshear's plans are still meeting resistance from Senate President David Williams, who agrees the state has a serious problem, but isn't convinced of the need for a special session.
