Frankfort, KY – Sid the Science Kid of PBS is teaming up with Gov. Steve Beshear to tout the importance of swine flu vaccines, especially for young people. Dr. Anne Schuchat of the Centers for Disease Control says it's unclear how much longer H1N1, or swine flu, will remain active. "Or how long it'll take for things to calm down in places like Kentucky that are still having widespread disease. But we do know that vaccine is the best way to protect individuals and those around them."

Schuchat says nationally, swine flu has sent at least 71-thousand children to hospitals. In Kentucky, three children are among the 36 people who have died from swine flu.
