A UK Music teacher has organized a benefit concert featuring local musicians paying tribute to the music of Neil Young.
Kevin Holm Hudson says Neilfest will be a celebration of the rock and roll icon with the proceeds going to the Lexington-based International Book Project.
"They collect unwanted, unneeded books from people in the community and they send them out to schools in developing countries," he told WUKY. "They really do a lot to promote global literacy, and I really liked the idea of thinking globally and acting locally," Holm Hudson said.
The show will be broken up into two sets spanning the entire career of the rock and roll hall of famer.
The benefit concert gets under way Friday night at 8 at Natasha’s Bistro and Bar.
