Barr Campaigns at UK

By Alan Lytle

Lexington, KY – The man who wants to replace Democrat Ben Chandler as Kentucky's Sixth District Congressman paid a visit to the University of Kentucky campus today. Republican and tea party favorite, Andy Barr told a crowd of mostly students that it's in their best interest to help send a fiscal conservative like him to Washington.

"This is about you and your future; and about your prosperity, and the opportunities that you will have as soon-to-be graduates of this fine institution. And so, we've got to focus on jobs. And we've got to admit, Democrats, Independents and Republicans, that what we've been doing in Washington for the past two years has not worked."

Barr reiterated his call for less government intrusion in the business sector, claiming that excessive regulation has resulted in choking off America's free enterprise system.
