Arrest Made In UK Indecent Exposure Investigation

University of Kentucky police have arrested a man in connection with a string of indecent exposure reports on campus.

UK Police Chief Joe Monroe says the arrest was the result of collaboration between UK police and officers in Frankfort.

"In the month of April, we had at least three different indecent exposure reports made to us that had similar descriptions of our suspect, so we've been looking for this guy for about a month now," Monroe says.

34-year-old Vijay Kumar Matta was arrested Wednesday after he was IDed during an unrelated traffic stop. Monroe says he’s been charged with one count of indecent exposure.

"We took a photo lineup to one of our victims and were able to get a positive identification on our suspect," he says.

The suspect is alleged to have asked women for directions and then exposed himself as they approached his car. Matta is also on probation in Ohio for a similar crime.
