If you ate at the White Castle in Louisville on Seventh Street in the last few weeks, the Department of Health and Wellness says you should be tested for hepatitis A.
Officials with the Louisville Department of Public Health and Wellness say an employee of the Louisville White Castle restaurant has been diagnosed with acute hepatitis A. Anyone who went to the fast food spot between April 6th and April 20th could have been exposed.
Symptoms of the disease are fatigue, decreased appetite, stomach pain, nausea, darkened urine, and jaundice. If you’ve been exposed, you could become ill within 15 to 50 days. If you experience any of these symptoms you should see a doctor immediately.
Hepatitis A is usually transmitted by putting something in your mouth such as an object, food or drink, which has been in contact with the feces of an infected person. More than 250 cases have been confirmed in Louisville since this past December.
