Annual St. Mark's Fundraiser Honors Officer Daniel Ellis With A 'Final Call'

For 12-years a quaint church in Central Kentucky has brought some of the biggest names in show-business to Richmond. This weekend they’ll host their final show with a comedic legend .

St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Richmond has held ‘An Evening Among Friends’, for over a decade.  Organizer and Parish Pastor Fr. Jim Sichko tells us, this year, the annual fundraiser is meant to honor a local hero. “This year is our final event and we’re calling it ‘The Last Call’ the reason being we’re honoring Officer Daniel Ellis, fallen officer from Richmond.”

Over the years Fr. Sichko has brought in Dolly Parton, Donny Osmond and Natalie Cole, just to name a few.  The final act is a guest he’s tried to book for over five years and calls him a perfect fit…Jay Leno.  “He’s a legend, clean humor, he’s Catholic, he’s very laid back and I just was tired, to be frankly honest with you of having to bring in the bands and the instruments and the lights and the sound.  Here we can just have a comedian, just one person and make people laugh.  Especially in our day and age right now we all need to laugh and have some fun”

There are just a handful of tickets available you can click here to order yours
