Andy Barr To Speak At GOP Convention

Aug 20, 2012

LEXINGTON, Ky.  -  Republican Congressional Candidate Andy Barr will reportedly deliver a speech at the upcoming national GOP Convention in Tampa, Florida.

The Lexington Herald Leader reports Barr has been invited to speak during the first evening’s session next Monday.

The National Republican Congressional Committee has designated the Lexington attorney as one of the most promising Republican challengers nationwide; after losing to Sixth District Democrat incumbent Ben Chandler by less than 650 votes two years ago.

In a statement Monday from his campaign office, Barr said:

"I am honored and humbled that my party has offered me the opportunity to tell Kentucky's story to a nationwide audience....I look forward to telling America how the vision of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan will enable Kentuckians to dream again - unleashing our limitless potential to create jobs and opportunity."

Kentucky Republican junior Senator Rand Paul will also address the party faithful in a prime-time speech.
