Normandy, FRANCE – A central Kentucky company is again sponsoring the largest equestrian event in the world. Alltech President Dr. Pearse Lyons announced Friday that his animal nutrition and brewery business will again be the title sponsor for the World Equestrian Games.
"When we had the Games in Kentucky, of course we stepped up and we said we would give $10 million. Things are more expensive, things are much more expensive in Europe. So now we've stepped up and now it's 10 million euros. I think my friend here is a very good negotiator."
With the current exchange rate, the sponsorship totals around 14 million dollars. Alltech used last year's games at the Kentucky Horse Park to host seminars, music groups, and showcase the company's Kentucky Ale products. The 2014 games will be held in Normandy, France.
