Ale-8-One Hires First Female President
WINCHESTER, Ky. - A Kentucky-based soft drink company has hired its first female president.
After a nearly year-long search Ellen McGeeny will now head the Ale-8-One Bottling Company of Winchester.
McGeeney was hired by Ale-8-One Chief Executive Officer Fielding Rogers, whose great-great uncle, G.L. Wainscott, created the soft drink in 1926.
McGeeney is the first president hired from outside the Ale-8-One bloodline. Rogers tells the Winchester Sun he brought McGeeney aboard to help the company expand its distribution.
A release from the bottling company says McGeeny was the top choice based on her extensive experience and education.
She comes to Ale-8-One from Rooibe Red Tea, a ready-to-drink tea based in Louisville.
