Dec 9, 2012

WILMORE, Ky. -- Organizers behind the Ichthus Music Festival based in central Kentucky, one of the oldest Christian music festivals, say they are ending its run after 42 years due to financial difficulties.

The board of directors for Ichthus Ministries, Inc. posted a note on their website saying the 2013 festival would be canceled and further operations would be ceased.

Aaron Ranson, the chairman of the Ichthus Ministries board, told WKYT-TV that the economy has changed over the past decade and attendance has decreased. They made staff and budget cuts and even tried to sell the 111-acre farm off of U.S. 60 where the outdoor festival is held each year.

Organizers said that about 1,000 people bought tickets for the 2013 festival and they can request a refund at .
