Hundreds of UK Folks Seeing "Blue" Today At Keeneland

Lexington, KY – Friday racing at Keeneland always draws a crowd but today, the racetrack has literally been taken over by the University of Kentucky and its SEE BLUE event. Hundreds of blue-clad students, faculty, and staff are spending the day celebrating the state's flagship university, and raising money for a charitable cause. Former UK quarterback Tim Couch and some of his old teammates are autographing special commemorative hats. Sale proceeds go to the university's Dance Blue charity.

Keeneland, Churchill, And Other Horse Tracks To Join Regulatory Alliance

Louisville, KY – Reforms like steroid bans and safety rail requirements have been hard to mandate in the racing industry, because each track is governed by its own board and the laws in that particular state. There is no national governing body. NTRA President Alex Waldrop says it wasn't hard getting tracks to join the new alliance.

Juge Refuses To Dismiss Domain Suit

Frankfort, KY – Attorneys for the gambling sites argued in court last week that Kentucky courts have no jurisdiction over the 141 domain names seized by the state, because none of the names are registered in Kentucky. But in a 43-page order, Franklin Circuit Judge Thomas Wingate disagrees, saying after thorough review the court finds reasonable bases to conclude that the Internet gambling operators and their property, the Internet domain names, are present in Kentucky.
