KY Atty. Gen. Weighs In On KCTCS Tenure Elimination

Frankfort, KY – In March, the Board of Regents of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System voted 10-4 to eliminate tenure for teachers hired after June 30th. The board said the move would save money, without eliminating protections for teachers.

State Releases NCLB Data - Mixed Bag In Fayette Co.

Amanda Ross Case Could Inspire Tougher DVO Laws

Frankfort, KY – When Amanda Ross was murdered on September 11th in Lexington, a domestic violence order was in place against Steve Nunn, the man accused of killing her. House Speaker Greg Stumbo believes legislation he will introduce Thursday could have saved Ross' life. "It will set up a system of GPS electronic monitoring which can be used as protection for people like Amanda Ross, so that they will know that there's areas that they can be safe in."

Federal Grants To Help KY Communities And Roadway Safety

Lexington, KY – Monday, in Lexington, Chuck Geveden, with the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety, presented Mayor Jim Newberry and Police Chief Ronnie Bastin with a 65-thousand dollar National Highway Safety grant to curb impaired driving, speeding, and other reckless behavior, as well as promoting child safety seats, and seatbelt usage.

Looking For Signs Of Life After "Centrepointe"

Lexington, KY – The CentrePointe project has been the focus of controversy since last year's demolition of 14 of Lexington's buildings on West Main Street. The area used to be a local hotspot for music venues, but the arts culture in Lexington has been scrambling to relocate. Swine Flu "Widespread" In KY
