Third Person In Fayette Co. Dies Of Swine Flu

Lextington, KY – The Fayette County Health Department today has confirmed that a man in his 40s with underlying health problems had the H1N1 flu at the time of his death. Health department spokesman, Kevin Hall, says with only one exception all of the victims had other health issues.

New Safety Campaign On Distracted Driving

Frankfort, KY – On a typical July night last year, 18-year old Nicole Meredith of Louisville was driving and texting. Her parents had warned her to never use her cell phone while driving, but texting was second nature to the teen and she thought she could handle it. Suddenly, she was off the road and halfway in the median. "Like anyone, I freaked out and attempted to correct myself and ended up over-correcting myself."

UK Releases Findings Of A Study On Emergency Protective Orders

Lexington, KY – Former Kentucky gubernatorial candidate Steve Nunn is accused of violating an emergency protective order when he shot and killed his former fianc e Amanda Ross on September 11th. Now while that high profile criminal case involving domestic violence and stalking continues to play out in the courts, researchers at the University of Kentucky are releasing results of a new study on the effectiveness of such civil protective orders.
