Attendance Jumps At State Fair

Louisville, KY – Fair Board President Harold Workman says officials were optimistic that attendance

would pick up this year, given the fact that more people were choosing to spend their

entertainment dollars closer to home amid the recession.

(just because we had kept up with the county fairs across the state and other

festivals and those attendance had been up through the summer, so we thought

that'd carry into the state fair, and it certainly did).

Several Horse Barns Destroyed At State Fairgrounds

Louisville, KY – Kentucky State Fair Board Chairman Harold Workman says the next event scheduled to use the horse barns is the North American International Livestock Expo Quarter Horse Show in early November. He says even if the barns aren't re-built by then, the nature of the show would allow them to continue without them.
