Council Approves Zoning Change For Hotel On Southland Drive

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Following a marathon 6 hour meeting on Tuesday the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council has approved a zone change allowing a four-story hotel to be built behind the Denny’s Restaurant near Southland Drive and Nicholasville Road.

The decision counters a recommendation from the city’s planning commission which originally rejected the proposal.

The Lexington Herald Leader reports About 75 people took turns speaking either for or against the zone change.
