Tune in on March 19 at 7 p.m. ET to gain insights into the fast-growing bourbon industry and its importance to Kentucky. Hear from four UK alums involved in the $9 billion bourbon industry, moderated by a member of the UK College of Communication and Information faculty. Generating more than 22,500 jobs, the production and consumption of Kentucky bourbon provides more than $268 million in annual tax revenue for state and local governments. The Kentucky Bourbon Trail brings 2.1 million people to distilleries with more than 70% being from out of state.

The Spizzwinks have been sharing their unique blend of music and humor since 1914. Over the years, their repertoire has grown to include a wide range of songs—everything from Sinatra, Marvin Gaye, ABBA, Norah Jones and Adele. Concerts also include Yale classics and a touch of tongue-in-cheek humor. This winning brand of collegiate a cappella has moved audiences around the world to tears and laughter, with a fan club including Lady Gaga, Joe Biden, Amy Klobuchar, and Magic Johnson. The 'Winks promise each member that during their three years in the group, they will visit all six inhabited continents and their hometown. The March 21 concert will feature Lexington native Charlie Stephenson. Charlie is a 2021 graduate of SCAPA Lafayette.

The City of Lexington has partnered with the Kentucky Solar Energy Society to launch Solarize Lexington. The program helps households reduce their reliance on the electric grid by making it easier to install solar photovoltaics (PV). Solarize Lexington will:
Connect participants to a vetted solar installer, Solar Energy Solutions.Provide a step-by-step walk-through of the solar installation process.Give households access to discounted wholesale rates.
The program is open to all homeowners in Lexington-Fayette County. Other property owners (non-profits, small businesses, places of worship) are also welcome to apply. Participants are responsible for the (discounted) cost of solar panels and installation.

Over 50 of the best watercolor paintings curated by the Kentucky Watercolor Society are on display at the Artists’ Attic gallery walls. Each painting tells a different story by engaging the viewer through creative expression. View a broad range of techniques and subjects such as representational and abstract compositions, densely layered paintings as well as works that exemplify the power of transparency, large and small paintings, landscapes, still-life, animals and more.

John’s Run/Walk Shop and Lexington’s Division of Environmental Services present the sixth annual Reforest 5K! We're so excited to be back in-person for this event at Hisle Farm Park, where race proceeds will help raise money to purchase trees for this year’s Reforest the Bluegrass in April. With your help, we hope to plant hundreds of trees after the race at home, and thousands more during Reforest the Bluegrass. Runners and walkers welcome. The race begins at 8 a.m.

This semester, University of Kentucky students enrolled in the Department of Integrated Strategic Communication’s (ISC) event planning class, have partnered with United Talent and United Events to plan their second annual vendor fair. The event titled “United We Shop,” will take place on Saturday, April 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 101 Kaden Lane, in Georgetown, KY. Nearly 45 local businesses including Argonne, Evan's Orchard, Tipsy Timbers, and so much more, will have the opportunity to showcase their Kentucky-made products and/or services at United Events. “United We Shop” will provide these small businesses in the area the chance to reach the community through this in-person event and frequent promotion.

Celebrate Mecca Dance Studio’s 25th Anniversary in the Lexington Arts Community!
Baile Habibi is a live performance featuring music by Alma Gitana and Lee Carroll’s C the Beat and dance performances by Rakadu Dance Theatre, Flamenco Louisville, belly dance, flamenco, Troupe Dagaz, Emily Marie, Matt Elliott, Amy McIntosh, and special guest Dalia Carella, internationally renowned dance legend from NYC.
The event includes: food, cash bar, vendors, and entertainment. A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit GreenHouse17, an organization dedicated to stopping domestic and intimate partner abuse.
